British Vogue April 1966

Mad Men has returned and it's now 1966, so I thought I'd post some ads and fashion from one of my old Vogues.

  1. I love the maxi dress Donyale Newton was wearing (one with red and blue pattern)...but think that the girdle would be more useful now.

    1. I love the maxi dress too, but less impressed with the girdle that falsely claims it's dedicated to women's freedom!

      A child of the 60s :-)!

  3. These are great, did you see 'We'll take Manhattan' ? It was about Jean Shrimprton and David Bailey, and was very good! X

    1. I did see it, yes, but didn't like it all that much, I felt neither Bailey nor The Shrimp actors were charasmatic enough...still enjoyed the clothes though!

  4. I wish I didn't love the cigarette ads so much! Oh, and the shoes - I dream of finding a cache of proper 60s shoes somewhere. Modern flats and low heels are close, but not quite as awesome!

    1. I have had a bad experience with 60s shoes...falling apart on me whilst wearing them and having to be carried home in the rain!
